So this is it – our tricky second album. Thank you so much to everyone who bought the first issue of Pit, we’ve been overwhelmed by the support and enthusiasm for our debut. We are so very nearly sold out of Issue 1 but there are a few copies left if you’d like to make sure you have the complete set.
We’ve had loads of fantastic feedback and we’re thrilled that you’re all talking about it on social media. We even got a mention from Jay Rayner in The Guardian (it’s at the bottom), who gave us a ‘big, smoky welcome.’ Our Art Director Holly was also invited to give a talk about Pit alongside two representatives from other magazines (new food mag Fare and Waitrose Food) and she totally nailed it. We were very proud.
Now, we’re pleased to announce that Issue 2 has been printed and is ready to send out to you lot. Our ingredient focus this time is corn (it’s not about the meat all the time, guys!) and we also have a new vegetable columnist in Hus Vedat, of London’s Turkish restaurant, Yosma. We go gallivanting in the woods, foraging and cooking venison, and we tackle the slippery customer that is the eel – both smoking it and grilling it.
Our regular features are back too, obviously, including a particularly ingenious Instant Barbecue Challenge. That’s all I’m giving away… there’s loads more! It’s worth buying for the Hawaiian Disco Popcorn recipe alone, to be honest.
All that remains for me to say is: please buy it! You can order directly from our website here.
